Osteopathic Promo! Book an initial and receive a free 30 min massage......A safe and non-invasive healing therapy, Osteopathic Manipulative Therapy, also simply referred to as Osteopathy, is a technique focused on the interrelationship between the structure and functions of the body. Osteopathy is based on the premise that the body can self-heal and self-regulate. This truly is a methodology, a belief system, which is behind this modality. Therefore, practitioners are facilitating the healing taking place by treating the entire body, not just singular, individual physical conditions.
Osteopathic Treatments are conducted with the use of manual readjustments, myofascial release (the release of pain which is caused by muscle irritation) and other physical manipulation of muscle tissue and bones. The position, quality and mobility of the body are used to both assess and treat the body for any symptoms which are present.
Often described as a “combination of chiropractic care and massage therapy,” the main difference between Osteopathy and chiropractic care is that an Osteopathic practitioner can manually assess and treat the body’s organs which require assistance to function optimally. Treatments typically involve the patient laying comfortably on a professional massage table while the practitioner conducts their treatment. Session lengths can vary depending upon the needs of the patients and as determined by the Osteopathic practitioner.
Interestingly, The World Health Organisation (WHO) recognised the Osteopathic concept of somatic dysfunction as being scientifically proven.

Health and wellness take many forms, including mental health and wellbeing. Psychotherapy is one such modality. A highly-specialized, interactive therapy which focuses on the emotional needs of the client to help improve and support their mental health, it is primarily talk-based. This means that sessions are typically conducted in the form of explorative, supportive and meaningful conversations between the client and therapist.
Psychotherapy is very much an inclusive form of therapy which supports both women and men of all ages and backgrounds. The goal of every session is to support a variety of issues the client may be experiencing. Together, the psychotherapist and client work to affect positive changes in the way the client thinks, feels and behaves both individually and in social settings. Clients who often seek psychotherapy when they are experiencing, and want to improve, any of the following:
• Anxiety
• Grief
• Depression
• Trauma
• Simply want to embark on your own self exploration
• Dealing with pain
During each session, the therapist respectfully explores the client’s concerns in a safe, supportive and welcoming environment. The goal of each session is typically mutually agreed upon by both the client and psychotherapist, with clear and focused boundaries during their conversation. Centred on promoting authenticity, compassion and acceptance, professional psychotherapists work collaboratively with clients to promote individual well being.
Due to the versatile nature of psychotherapy, sessions can be conducted in varied settings such as hospitals and clinics. Likewise, Nalwanga is offering her psychotherapy services in the safe, confidential and professional setting of The Chiropractic Office & Health Associates. Her years of diverse experience enable her to create a mindful working alliance that is rooted in ethnocultural understanding and empathy.
