It can be tough to make that first step towards counseling , especially if you are just starting out. The choice to pursue counseling is entirely yours to make and a deeply personal choice at that. It is for this specific reason that we offer free consultations during which you can get to know the counselor, and get a sense for my style and delivery (fit).
Counseling is very much an inclusive form of therapy which supports both women and men of all ages and backgrounds. The goal of every session is to support a variety of issues the client may be experiencing. Together, the counselor and client work to affect positive changes in the way the client thinks, feels and behaves both individually and in social settings. Clients who often seek counselling when they are experiencing, and want to improve, any of the following:
• Anxiety
• Grief
• Depression
• Trauma
• Simply want to embark on your own self exploration
• Dealing with pain
During each session, the counselor respectfully explores the client’s concerns in a safe, supportive and welcoming environment. The goal of each session is typically mutually agreed upon by both the client and counselor, with clear and focused boundaries during their conversation. Centered on promoting authenticity, compassion and acceptance, professional social workers work collaboratively with clients to promote individual well being. Initial and follow up appointments are available with our registered social worker Khadijah Kanji via a secure and easy to use virtual platform. Psychotherapy sessions with Rene Titre, will be done in person. If you are unable to find your preferred date and time, please call our office at 905-607-2323. We will inform you once in person appointments are again available.
If you wish to email Khadijah her email address is kkanji@thechiropracticoffice.ca. Please allow 24-48 hours for your email inquiry to be responded to.

From expecting moms to seniors, people visit chiropractors at various stages of their lives to alleviate persistent or sporadic pain, reduce the risk of injuries or improve flexibility, mobility and posture. A chiropractor is a spine, muscle, joint and nervous system expert, who applies the best available evidence and clinical expertise to diagnose health issues that affect your body’s movement. Using primarily their hands, your chiropractor will treat these issues without medication or surgery and help prevent them from returning.
We are now offering chiropractic rehabilitation and consultations online. Chiropractic services are available to current patients and include 1. A quick functional assessment 2. Custom active rehabilitation program (including stretches, strengthening and/or functional movements). Ergonomic Assessments for individuals setting up an at home work station are also available. These sessions are designed to assess your work station for possible risks associated with repetitive strain injuries as well as provide you with a postural exercise program you can do while at your workstation.
Direct billing is available.

A safe and non-invasive healing therapy, Osteopathic Manipulative Therapy, also simply referred to as Osteopathy, is a technique focused on the interrelationship between the structure and functions of the body. Osteopathy is based on the premise that the body can self-heal and self-regulate. This truly is a methodology, a belief system, which is behind this modality. Therefore, practitioners are facilitating the healing taking place by treating the entire body, not just singular, individual physical conditions.
Osteopathic Treatments are conducted with the use of manual readjustments, myofascial release (the release of pain which is caused by muscle irritation) and other physical manipulation of muscle tissue and bones. The position, quality and mobility of the body are used to both assess and treat the body for any symptoms which are present.
Often described as a “combination of chiropractic care and massage therapy,” the main difference between osteopathy and chiropractic care is that an Osteopathic practitioner can manually assess and treat the body’s organs which require assistance to function optimally. Treatments typically involve the patient laying comfortably on a professional massage table while the practitioner conducts their treatment. Session lengths can vary depending upon the needs of the patients and as determined by the Osteopathic practitioner.
Interestingly, The World Health Organisation (WHO) recognised the Osteopathic concept of somatic dysfunction as being scientifically proven.

Too often in therapy, we fall into the trap of rehearsing our traumas, and not enough time is spent building the skills necessary to overcome the difficulties in everyday life. We can work on creating a more resilient version of yourself by meeting you where you are and working to understand the triggers, difficulties, and nuances of your individual experience.

In therapy, we will work to identify the root of your struggles and create pathways for you to feel more in control and content with your life. I will meet you where you are in your journey and use a shared understanding of being a part of the BIPOC community, coupled with the acknowledgment of the uniqueness of your story, to help foster a relationship that will provide a foundation from which you can thrive. I work with anxiety, depression, self-esteem, trauma, attachment issues and interpersonal concerns such as work, family, intimate partnerships, and friendships.

I support clients from a decolonized holistic approach that engages your physical, emotional, and cognitive self. I use a strength based and creative lens in our work together. My practice draws on existential and humanistic psychology and is grounded in Afrocentrism, mindfulness, and somatic work.
